"This event has been more than helpful its more than I could have asked for. I never expected to need help getting my kids ready for school. Over the last year, my husband and brother were both laid off. My husband went back to work, only to catch COVID and nearly lose his life. We got behind on our mortgage and are facing foreclosure on our home and repo of our car. My husband is back to work now working 13 days on and 1 day off to fulfill our mortgage modification. "We received our two turkeys on  GAT-GAT Sunday (get a turkey, give a turkey) and on the way home prayed about who to give it to. I felt a promoting to give the turkey to our neighbor. We got home and knocked on the neighbor’s front door. No one answered and I started doubting myself… “they’re not home, they don’t need a turkey, I’m sure they’ve already have one, etc.” But my husband persisted…  “this was who you thought the turkey should go to, and their cars are here, let’s try the back door. “ Just as we got to the back door our neighbor came out… in sweats, no makeup, looking a little disheveled.  She shared with us that her nephew passed away that week and they were behind in holiday prep. She said she was going to the grocery store because she just told her husband “we don’t even gave a turkey!” We gave her the turkey and explained  GAT - GAT Sunday to her, that God sees her and loves her and He provided this turkey for her.  With tears in all of our eyes, we prayed a prayer for comfort and thanksgiving for her family."- DD
